why does everyone think someone is gonna call the cops on us when we skate....it only happens in area's where there is by-law signs, and pple will only really call the cops if ur doing something actually illegal...hamilton isnt heat but back on the subject at hand, that hill is really choppy and not too fast, but its fun practicing drifts around the corner
because people always call the cops on us no matter where we are. Especially if there is a crew of 5 or more people. It happens everywhere from St.kitts to Collingwood. At some point we have dealt with cops on every hill. Around St.Kitts they have threatened to charge us with criminal mischeif the next time we get caught. Bogus yes but they can still charge you and it will cost thousands to fight it in court and if it sticks you can't leave the country. Apparently interfering with the lawful use of an area is considered mischeif. Also the kid got some sort of ticket for skating in the middle of nowhere.
Even after we had the law explained to us by an OPP, the next time we were out we got pulled over and our info taken down and told to leave, even though there were no laws we were breaking. In St. Catharines at the outlaw they stopped us for no reason, there are no bylaws covering skateboarding and we were not breaking any laws.
Hamilton is totally heat. We had 2 cruisers and a van come after us and there were only 3 riders super late a night. It illegal to skate anywhere in hamilton even on the sidewalks. After Brick and Beef were caught the cops told them they couldn't even ride their boards away. The cops being called is not a new problem there are just more skaters now. Luckily sounds like you guys have been skate ninjas and getting away with it. The trick is when you hit the hill be ready to go in the car, do 3 runs and go to the next hill, get outta sight at the bottom of the hill.
I just don't want to hear about anybody else going through the bullshit that the "collingwood 5" are going through.
