I would be down for a beginner division but either way my ass will be handed to me... Not that I mind, the more often it's handed to me is the more often I have a chance to learn something new.

If I an make it down the hill without endangering everyone around me then I am down to lose 10 dollars for sure!

first place gets 1 point, second place gets two points, third place gets three points.. etc etc...

lowest score after three races wins.

ie, if you come in 1st every time you have 3 points.

if you come in 1st, 4th and 2nd, you have 7 points

Are these races outlaw, or will you be getting permission from the city to use the paths?

Do we have to get permission?  I thought that because we are gonna be in parks we'd be fine.  If so then its gonna be OUTLAW.

Do we have to get permission?  I thought that because we are gonna be in parks we'd be fine.

I'm no lawyer but...

CITY OF TORONTO
BY-LAW No. 854-2004

While in a park, no person shall:
A.     Arrange or engage in an organized sport or activity, unless authorized by permit;

Furthermore, many paths in Toronto have a no bicycles/skateboards sign at the top of them.  The path that I think you have in mind for the Toronto race does not.  I'd like to keep it that way because, as it is right now, it appears to be totally legal to skate there.

My prediction is that if you hold a race at this spot, somebody will complain, the cops will get called (not really a big deal on it's own) and in the near future there will be a bylaw sign preventing skateboarding in the park (what I'd like to avoid happening).
