Alright guys! I have a project I'm helping develop and I'm looking to pick some brains.
So, I've been workin with  Margaret Wallis-Duffy, a world renowned Kinesiologist producing training videos. I fully understand that the best way to train for boarding is to board, however I'm looking to produce these videos for people who wish to take their training to the next level.

We will be addressing the different genres of boarding including DH, LDP, Freestyle and many other styles.

And this is where you come in, if you have any problems you wish to see addressed then please post them up here.

Here is some topics we have come up with...
Muscle fatigue while holding a tuck
Pre and post race warm up/ cool down
Road rash care
Balance exercises
Joint fatigue
Energy distribution in LDP
And so on

This lady has a million answers for any questions! I'm hoping to give our community that extra edge in competitions.

Ouch my brain!
Joking aside, I think road rash care is something we can all benefit from, a lot of people are misinformed on the correct way to treat road rash and end up going through a lot more hell then they need to (and a lot more scarring then need be)

Awesome idea Rob,

I think one of the most over looked training tools is a balance board and weights, mischo has some of the craziest balance tools I've ever seen and I'm pretty sure you can see where its helped him get haha I also hear he's part machine! Could she help us fine tune how to get max benefits from simple bottle boards or improve the design to work more muscles for courses like maryhill (if you've been you know what i mean haha)

Man I'll keep thinking gotta run this was just the first thing that popped into my head

Again Rob congrats on the little one!

Thanks guys!

Working with this lady is awesome! she also has some clients that have the money to help us run legit races, so these vids will be a step in the right direction. She is so good that she was able to teach me how to make someone poop themselves by simply touching them!!!! So don't fall asleep around me  Wink

Keep the suggestions coming! production starts in few weeks!!!

we are supposed to ask questions?

Muscle  and joint fatigue is pretty annoying sometimes, and sometimes its worse than just fatigue, can she make it go away faster?  Tongue

fatique while in a tuck is inevitable I find. I tried tuck training before but still at the begining of the season I still found that fatique. You just need to skate and tuck more. It's just something im used to at the begining of each season now. After a couple events it's gone.

If you train prior to the season it won't happen. In the years where I snowboard 40 to 50 days a season I don't get tired in the spring when I start riding roads...

My question is what is the most effective way to train (least amount of time) when it's so shitty out you don't want to skate. Obviously working my muscles to failure is key but doing what?

Right off the top of my head, I would like to avoid re-injuring my back. I have some inflammation from my lower back from a totally unrelated injury. I had a compressed nerve on my lower spine in college and I feel it once in a while when I'm skating. I would imagine any information about avoiding re-injury of any kind would be very helpful. I've had my fair share of falls and would like insight on how to take care of the body even if I'm still recovering from injury.

Road rash care would help a ton of people out.

Good idea.
