Hey guys
Today I was desperate for some snowboarding action. I hadn't been snowboarding this season and wanted to go up to Mt. St. Louis but at the last minute my parents couldn't drive me so me and my friend Sebastian went to Earl Bayles.
Earl Bayles is a small city run Ski/snowboard hill in Toronto.  http://www.toronto.ca/parks/skiing/index.htm

It is just south of Shepard and Bathurst.

I was really happy with the hills. The snow was good (made with snowmakers mostly) and the runs were good for abit of fun.
There were 2out of the 3 runs open today. I think 1 is a blue and the other is a red. They are fairly short but really fun. There are some fun places that you can improvise and use as banks and stuff. The blue hill got a bit boring of just carving down so we started doing butters and 90 carves to toeside 270 jumps on the hill. The red was quite fast but not compared to out of city places like Blue and Devils Glen.

The Terrain park was closed today but I talked to one of the workers there and they said it will open very soon.
The park has 2 small jumps and 1 decent sized jump. It also has 3boxes but no rails.  (that was last year it may be bigger or smaller this year. The more snow they get the more they add to the jumps to make them bigger.

There is only 1 chair lift but its good. the runs are all parallel to each other so no more lifts are needed.

Overall its a good place to practise a hard new grind on a small box or some medium speed carving.

The cost of entry for a full day including night riding is 28 bucks or 21 for 4hrs or 12 for 1hr.

If you cant make it out to the big hills this is a really good option to quench your thirst for some riding

very much so. If you have never snowboarded before and want to teach youurself there is a hill with no lift but a rope that pulls you to the top which is really easy. From there you can move on to working your way down to big hill. The rope pull actually costs 8bucks more but you will probably only need that for 1 session.
If you really want to go and snowboard they do rentals sometimes (call ahead of time, number is on the link I posted in the first post)
 Yeah dude, right on!

I'd love to come out on Wed! Unfortunately doubt I would make it out of the office that early this week.
Unlucky Sad
But if you head out anytime next week, post the vitals or pm me! (If you have patience for a noob that is!! Grin)

Hey, its almost winter  Tongue. I'd like to try snowboarding, is it easier or similar to longboarding? Do I need to take the beginner classes or can I just free roam. I did a little research on the rates and times also  Yeah dude, right on!

Its a lot harder then longboarding. You dont need lessons but I would highly recommend them. They will tech you the basics and you can go from there on your own.
