Last post about this was in 2008, so I have a couple questions.
Starting from Rouge Hill station, are the road/path conditions good up until Guildwood station? I think I've only made it up to Old Kingston and turned back around. I remember them being nice up until that point, but I didn't know the path continued on to the other side.
Plus is there anything interesting to skate in Morningside Park?
Any other hills/roads I should look out for along the path?

Grazzzzie
Plus is there any path from Scarborough that goes straight to the waterfront in Toronto? I'm not too familiar with it, but heading in to Toronto on the DVP near those 3 elephants-with-no-heads statues there is that path to the right... what does that connect to? Brick works area?

The waterfront trail, from what I remember, is not very well connected through Scarborough - partially due to geography (bluffs) and partially because land access was not negotiated.  Here are some maps of the "trail" in that area; as you can see, most of the "trail" is wayfinding along side streets, which I wasn't interested in when I was looking for cycling trails, but it could be good for longboarding... I haven't explored that end of the city for a long time.  Maybe I'll head out there when the weather and my days off line up.  Smiley

There aren't really any paths from Scarborough to downtown, just little trails here and there that don't connect in any meaningful way.  See this super-complicated map (ignore all the dotted lines; they're just "proposed" paths and bike lanes):

The trail that you see from the DVP, however, does go all the way downtown and connects with the waterfront trail at Lakeshore and Cherry St.  It's one of the few functionally connected recreational paths in this city, a legacy of hurricane Hazel.  Some of the asphalt is pretty gnarly (especially the south end beside the river... lots of tree roots have busted up the trail), but it could still be pretty fun to explore.

Rad! Thanks for all the links... I will definitely be checking out some of those paths along the Don River soon...
And that map with all the green circles literally covering the whole map... I couldn't look at it without laughing, apparently everywhere has had trail upgrades.
 Yeah dude, right on!

Today we checked out a path that runs through the hydro field from Victoria Park eastwards, a block-and-a-half north of Eglinton.  The pavement quality varies between slightly rough and pristine new asphalt.  It's not super-flat like a lot of the rail trails, but the hills are fairly mellow and fun for old farts like me and the hubby to carve down.   Wink

Not as picturesque as a waterfront trail, but it's a decent option if you're looking for somewhere to push in Scarborough.

that is the path that goes from vic park up beyond ellesmere and scarb golf club I have only ridden it so far as brimely coming from golf club, , when you are heading west it is a lot of uphill, but the when you are coming back, it is a lot of downhill, but nothing major, just nice cruising hills
