Just moved back to Oshawa after a couple years away....packed my skateboard away and took up longboarding in the intervening period...got all stoked today sanding down the dervish and gripping up for the season. Always interested in people to ride with, PM me.

General Category / Board Building & DIY / DIY Slide Gloves: Slide material?

Ok, so im putting a pair together and wanted some input. In the first place, im using a thick leather gardening style glove. I am planning on using PL construction grade adhesive, the 300+ rating stuff. Ive noticed most DIY gloves employ the use of glue gun sticks, or velcro, but I work in renovations and have never known a stronger, more widely applicable adhesive. Lastly, i have an old polyethylene cutting board, which I know most people use in DIY vids, but I also have some old marble/stone checkers pieces (for which the board is long gone).
My question is about the quality of these materials:
Will PL provide a better bond than a glue stick (seems an obvious yes)?
Has anyone ever slid on stone/marble? They seem easier to arrange on a glove (independent finger pucks already in small, circular, checker piece format), but also seem a bit heavy? Is the cutting board the better way to go?
Cheers
