wood: if it's sealed properly, a wet rag will get the dirt off, and you can murphy oil it to make it smell and look purdy
formica/arborite: whatever you use to clean your counters
carbon/glass: wet rag

trucks: strip 'em, wipe em, lube 'em, re-assemble

wheels: hot water, rag

Holy, I've been skating a lot in the wet/snow so I clean my board about 2x a week. I think I've gotten pretty good at it.

Firstly, I clean the grip. I get a small cup of vinegar, and a toothbrush and do work. Small circular motions work best for me. Then I blot the excess vinegar off with a rag.

Secondly, I will take off the trucks. Not disassemble them yet though. Grab a bottle of windex or something and spray the bottom of your board. wipe it down with a different, clean rag. It will be nice and shiny.

Thirdly, I disassemble the trucks. Take it all apart, use some vinegar if you want to clean them but MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL OF THE VINEGAR OFF AFTER, OR ELSE YOUR TRUCK MIGHT RUST!! So once they are all clean, I like to use some soap shavings in the pivot cups and on the bushing so they don't squeak. *Anything else you can use other than soap? An oil or lubricant of some sort?* Put your trucks back together.

Now before you go ahead and put your trucks on, go to Wal-Mart or Canadian Tire or wherever and get some clear coat. Spray your whole board and especially in any cracks/chips etc. This will prevent water from getting in. Its almost essential when riding in rain/slush and its definitely worth the $5.

So once you have clear coated it, or if you aren't going to, put the trucks back on.

Take your wheels and usually the grime will come off just by wiping it, but if not use vinegar or water or something. Take the bearings out and clean the inside part of the wheel as well. Clean the bearings by using alcohol or something of that sort to take out all of the grime, but make sure that you re-oil after or there is a high chance that your bearings will rust.

Put your bearings back in your wheels and your wheels back on your trucks, and voila your done.

Hope this helps, and if I missed anything let me know.

whats the best way to get a bearing out of a wheel? My trying to pop it out with a screw driver like a lever has left me with a few bearings too dented to spin.

just wipe the board down and spin your wheels to get some of the water out, throw it in the corner.
maybe drop some lube into your bearings. If they rust and stop throw it on the ground and start skating the rust will break out!

Save yourself time

as for pivot cups use graphite powder. you can get it in a bottle or just shave a pencil.

grab the wheel and put it on your truck axel so that its only as far in as one bearing, then just pop off each bearing on the axel.
