Slide Fool 2!

Slide-Fu! Courtesy of Zachasaurus Courtesy of Zachasaurus

(First slide fool here http://wikiskate.com/olf2/index.php/topic,2051.0.html )

This year our slide event will be taking place on September 13th @ 11am, the day after the boardmeeting, to give our out-of-town friends something to stick around for!

This year, I have printed the above design, but unlike last year, I won’t be selling them. Instead, to make it simpler, and to ensure everyone who participates in the comp gets something, there will be a 5-dollar entry fee. With this fee, you get a T-Shirt, and the chance to win some fabulous swag!
DEETS:

A Slide Session, consisting of a slide school followed by a slide competition, At the pooper, September 13th, beginning at 11 am.

I will be bringing a BBQ, for those that want hotdogs or whatever (There is a grocery store at the top of the poopchute) and a torch, for those that want to make gloves. Bring your own plastic pucks and work gloves!

First: (11 to 1ish)
Help and instruction for eager newbies!

Then: (1ish to whenever we’re done-ish!)
Slide Comp!

Then:
Prizes are announced!

Two Categories:

Amateur + Pro

How Judging will work: Everyone in the crowd (ie: not in the comp) will be given a piece of paper and will write their own choices for top three. Whoever gets the top votes in each category ( ie: 1st, 2nd and 3rd) will get awarded prizes accordingly!

Cost to enter: ONLY FIVE BUCKS

Also, Concrete wave will coming to cover the event (!) and will be bringing lots of giveaways, like magazines, keychains, and stickers, so they’ll be lots of great stuff up for grabs! Also, don’t forget that everyone who plays along will get an official Slide-Fu T-Shirt!

Hang-over slides!

I forgot to mention, like last year, All Teachers will of course not have to pay! Gooner is helping out and organizing the teachers. He may contact you, but if you're interested in lending a hand, give him a shout!

I've come to terms with the fact that for now the only sliding I'm capable of is on my ass.  Still I'll try to come out to watch.  Hone some stoke chi.

To make teaching and learning a little easier watch this video and try to practice the coleman position.  This position is a fundamental sliding.  Once you have this position down every trick will be easier and there will be tons for you to learn.  We spent alot of time working on this position last year, which we can do again this be, but i think it will make things work a little smoother.
