Rum and Stoke Race Information:

Date: Saturday, July 18, 2009

Important Times: Registration Starts at 1 PM, Race Starts at 2 PM

Race Start and Finish Location: The Dominion Tavern at 33 York St., Ottawa, ON, K1N 5S7

Race Information:

This is the 4th Annual Rum and Stoke!!

This is a race that involves a Longboard push race, mixed with bar and random drinking stops, much like a pub-crawl.  Remember it is 19 +, so please bring your ID’s!!!

There are Mandatory drinks (about 6 in total) and Bonus drinks (about 6 in total) that you can choose to consume to take time off of your overall time!

The course this year is similar to last year, except that it will be in reverse.  It will start at the Dominion tavern and head along the north side of the Rideau Canal, around Dow’s Lake, and back along the south side of the Rideau Canal, ending at the Dominion Tavern.

The race begins and finishes with a shot of rum (in order to stop the clock at the end you need to have the shot of rum).  After the start, the race proceeds to a station that will be giving out Redbull Vodkas and there will be one available bonus drink (another Redbull and Vodka) worth 2 minutes (to be taken off of your overall time).  The next stop is at a Mexicali Rosa’s where they will be serving regular sized, crushed ice Margaritas.  The bonus drink at this stop is a Colossal sized, crushed ice Margarita worth 10 minutes off of your overall time!  The next involves the Tequila Waterguns!!  The mandatory drink is about 1.5 oz of tequila.  For a bonus, you can do between 1 and 3 bonus shots for a time bonus of 2 minutes per extra shot!  The last stop is at the Royal Oak Tavern, where the mandatory drink is an Irish Car Bomb.  The Bonus drink here is a shot of Jack Daniels, worth 3 minutes!  And then you finish at the Dominion Tavern, with the final shot of rum.  If you choose to not take a mandatory drink, or miss one, there will be a penalty of 20 minutes added to your overall time.

Cost: The cost to enter is $40 and includes every drink except the bonus shots at Mexicali Rosas and The Royal Oak.

There is a cap for 50 people on the event.

Also note:  the event is sponsored by landyachtz, sector9, rayne, arbor and more, plus we are expecting to have the redbull girls come out again this year!

We are also going to put chalk arrows marking the stops so that is easier for those of you who are out of town (you can thank j-vizzle for that one).

still waiting to hear from Quickor and Chicken. If either of them are going take them in your car. A friend said that they want the last seat in my car. I will find out if that is a definate on monday. If the seat is open by the end of monday, and we haven't heard from Chicken or Quickor, you are welcome to take the seat in my car so that you don't have to drive up alone.
