Ok lads interesting update.

I ran into a dude looking to make a documentary about skateboarding/longboarding in Kingston and at Queens. He told me he already ran into another longboarder who told him about silverfish and OLF.

He wants to know all about the community, cop hassles, public reactions, queens opinion etc

I think it would be sweet if we could work our charity ride into this documentary somehow.

Well anyway I got his name and number and he told me to contact him if we have a bunch of people together and do a ride so he can film some stuff.

when is this supposed to happen? is this a uni/college/high school kid?

who is this guy? i don't need his c.i., just wondering.

community = small, but active.
cop hassles = none (to my knowledge, the closest thing is my discussions with student constables)
public reactions = so far, so good. excited people in the garages, school kids are all too drunk to notice, a few grouchy old fogeys around town
queen's opinion = skateboarding in all forms is illegal on campus. that said, nobody cares.

Nah its some little local, probably in his spare time dad i think but that said everyone starts somewhere.

And as for when, he didnt say really, just told me to let him know if we ever do a ride so he can get some footage and talk to us etc. I do know hes already started with the "street" skaters thru W49 and the mall and the skatepark but he wants to get the ENTIRE skate scene, not just the hooligans Tongue

Cheers

Man... I sure hope he's keeping contact info on all the people he's getting. We could steal it for a mailing list for the charity ride. Cheesy. .hehehehe

Gave the dude a call and he's stoked to film us. I offered to let him know when we're going to be skating and where so he can set up the cameras. I figured Summerhill over at Queen's Uni is nice and picturesque, with some nice easy runs, smooth paths and a decent if small hill.

So, Summerhill, Tuesday the 14th at around 6:45 if you want to turn up and skate for a local documentary !

Start prayin for good weather !
