i never saw that post. Im going to agree with tyler. Climb mill it, Alum is really soft so when your climb milling your stand less chance of the cutter actually grabbing the piece. That all being said it does depend on how sharp your end mill is, and the quality of it.  (on a side note i just ordered an electronic edge finder with z setting guage from KBC tools 35$!!!)   

Sean can i use a carbide end mill?  Grin

Now i havnt worked with Alum yet, i've only done a bit of cnc on a .125" thick piece, not really big enough to get a good feel for the material. Now tool steel and Crs i have a bit more experience with.
